One of my new favorite comedians/improvisers/actors, J.B. Smoove, talks a little about Curb Your Enthusiasm and his comedy career. If you haven’t seen Curb Season 6, I really recommend it. The guy is just hilarious in it.

I just finished watching the 6th season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, a show I’ve really enjoyed, but haven’t seen a lot of. One of the subplots was that Larry and his wife take in a family who have lost their home because of a hurricane. The brother, Leon, played by J.B. Smoove was just incredible. His scenes with Larry David were amazingly funny. I’ve heard Larry David talk about the show’s creation and how he has an outline (that none of the other actors know about), but all the dialogue is improvised and never rehearsed. That made me appreciate it more. I recommend season six a ton. It was great. And the only sitcom that I’ve seen that resembles the Harold structure-wise, in the sense that ideas are explored, there are different beats with the same characters, recurring bits and patterns, and eventually, all the subplots come together in the end in the service of one greater idea. 24 hours of Improvisation!!!! This Weekend!

USS Rock N Roll is proud to be participating in the Second City That Never Sleeps. This is a 24 hour improv performance for charity. USS Rock N Roll will be doing the 6:30am to 9:30am shift. Taking the stage with improvisers who at that point have been on stage for 9 HOURS!

The Second City That Never Sleeps Hollywood is a 24-hour improv performance by some of Los Angeles’s finest improv/sketch comics to benefit a scholarship fund for the kids of Hollywood Arts, a homeless service provider and education center serving 18-25 year-olds in Hollywood.
